Feist and Death Cab man team up for charity album

Feist and Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard are reportedly teaming up to record a song together for the forthcoming 'Red Hot' charity album, which benefits AIDS research.

The duo will join several artists including David Byrne, Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, Sharon Jones, Dirty Projectors and The National, who are contributing the latest instalment of the 'Red Hot' charity compilation.

Byrne, who has contributed to several 'Red Hot' compilations over the years, is collaborating with Dirty Projectors for two songs on the album.

In a posting on his website, Byrne wrote, "Id been told more than once that we should all work together, and it seems the suggestion was fated to be realised."

Byrne said of one of the songs: "The tune is as oddly structured as any of their pieces, but you sort of dont notice because it is really catchy and it all flows as if nothing untoward is going on whatsoever."

The as-yet-untitled album is set to be released in the autumn or in early 2009, reports Billboard.
