Equal parts emo and metallic element, Portland, OR, quadruplet 36 Crazyfists -- named after a Jackie Chan picture show show -- comprised members Brock Lindow (vocals), Steve Holt (guitar/vocals), Mick Whitney (sea bass), and Thomas Noonan (drums). Originally formed in December of 1994 in Anchorage, AK, the quadruplet played kayoed topically earlier relocating to Portland (after the death of their original bassist), opening up for the likes of System of a Down, Primus, blink-182, and NOFX, among others. The quadruplet eventually sign-language to Roadrunner in 2000, afterwards their friends in Skinlab passed their demonstration on to the label. Their first alkali album, Acrimony the Star, appeared in 2002. A Snow Capped Romance, which was produced by James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, As Friends Rust), followed deuce days later. They toured around-the-clock behind the phonograph recording (playacting shows with acts of the Apostles like Killswitch Engage and Poison the Well) through December, pickings two months off before commencement work on their succeeding album. 36 Crazyfists entered the studio with producer Sal Villaneuva (who'd worked with Thursday and Taking Back Sunday) in October 2005 to commence recording, and their resulting third album, Pillow Inside the Flames, appeared in June 2006.

Travis reveal their new single

TRAVIS try to column over the opposition in the television for their new single.

The indie veterans are back with a scuzzy new unmarried called Something
Anything, and the video for it features guitar player ANDY DUNLOP growing
into a goliath.

The Scots strummers have tried for a BLUR-style reinvention with the
song dynasty, taken from forthcoming album Ode To J Smith.

And spell its not quite as breathtaking as Blurs famous Song 2 comeback
moment, Something Anything still has a crude feel about it that reminds you of
Travis Britpop flower.

The undivided Something Anything is out on Sep 15.

Feist and Death Cab man team up for charity album

Feist and Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard are reportedly teaming up to record a song together for the forthcoming 'Red Hot' charity album, which benefits AIDS research.

The duo will join several artists including David Byrne, Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, Sharon Jones, Dirty Projectors and The National, who are contributing the latest instalment of the 'Red Hot' charity compilation.

Byrne, who has contributed to several 'Red Hot' compilations over the years, is collaborating with Dirty Projectors for two songs on the album.

In a posting on his website, Byrne wrote, "Id been told more than once that we should all work together, and it seems the suggestion was fated to be realised."

Byrne said of one of the songs: "The tune is as oddly structured as any of their pieces, but you sort of dont notice because it is really catchy and it all flows as if nothing untoward is going on whatsoever."

The as-yet-untitled album is set to be released in the autumn or in early 2009, reports Billboard.

Influenced by genre-defining bands such as Carcass and Macabre, Gorerotted built its reputation in the alloy resistance with its 1998 demonstration, Her Gash Did I Slash, ahead unleashing its much-discussed debut, Mutilated in Minutes, which Relapse released in 2002. The European alloy press championed the album, with Terrorizer cartridge holder naming it the one-seventh best "gore" album of all time. In summation to the press funding, Gorerotted appeared at numerous European alloy festivals, including such prestigious ones as Fuck the Commerce, Obscene Extreme, and the X-Treme Justice Festival.

Michelle Williams - Williams Returns To Red-carpet At Cannes

Actress MICHELLE WILLIAMS impressed film fans by making a last minute appearance at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday (22May08) - treading her first red-carpet since the death of former partner HEATH LEDGER.

The star dazzled hordes of photographers as she made her way down the French festival's red-carpet to promote her latest movie Wendy And Lucy.

Williams has kept a low profile since the tragic passing of Ledger - the father of William's two-year-old daughter Matilda - who died from an accidental drugs overdose in his New York apartment earlier this year (Jan08).

The former Dawson's Creek star reached out the world's media in the months after Ledger's death, pleading for privacy for herself and her daughter, saying, "My heart is broken. Please respect our need to grieve privately."

But the star decided it was time to return into the public spotlight, making a last minute long-haul flight from New York to attend the renowned festival.

A representative for Wendy And Lucy explains, ""It was decided on Monday night that she could come to Cannes, and she got on the next plane to arrive just in time to get dressed and come to our premiere."

According the People.com, Williams will stay in Cannes to promote another project, Synecdoche, New York, before returning to the U.S. to continue shooting a Martin Scorcese movie.
